Summary
An industrial painter applies protective coatings, paints, and rust-proofing materials to heavy machinery, structural steel, tanks, and manufactured parts to prevent corrosion and wear. They prepare surfaces via sandblasting or cleaning, mix industrial-grade coatings (epoxies, urethanes), and use spray guns or rollers to ensure, durable, high-quality finishes.
Essential Duites and Responsibilities
    • Clean, sand, sandblast, or chemically etch surfaces to remove rust, scale, and old coating, ensuring maximum adhesion.
    •  Apply specialized industrial paints and protective coatings using spray equipment, brushes, or rollers, adhering to strict thickness specifications.
    • Equipment Maintenance: Clean, set up, and maintain spray guns, nozzles, blast pots, and airless pumps.
    • Material Preparation: Mix, blend, and thin paints, primers, and coatings according to technical data sheets.
    • Quality Control & Safety: Inspect finished parts for defects, ensuring compliance with safety (OSHA) regulations and using necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
    • Previous experience with spray painting, sandblasting, or industrial painting is a plus
    • Knowledge of coatings (epoxies, polyurethanes), surface preparation techniques, and ability to read blueprints or technical specifications.
    • Ability to stand for long hours, climb, lift heavy equipment, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
