Summary
An industrial painter applies protective coatings, paints, and rust-proofing materials to heavy machinery, structural steel, tanks, and manufactured parts to prevent corrosion and wear. They prepare surfaces via sandblasting or cleaning, mix industrial-grade coatings (epoxies, urethanes), and use spray guns or rollers to ensure, durable, high-quality finishes.
Essential Duites and Responsibilities

- Clean, sand, sandblast, or chemically etch surfaces to remove rust, scale, and old coating, ensuring maximum adhesion.

Apply specialized industrial paints and protective coatings using spray equipment, brushes, or rollers, adhering to strict thickness specifications.

Equipment Maintenance: Clean, set up, and maintain spray guns, nozzles, blast pots, and airless pumps.

Material Preparation: Mix, blend, and thin paints, primers, and coatings according to technical data sheets.

Quality Control & Safety: Inspect finished parts for defects, ensuring compliance with safety (OSHA) regulations and using necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Previous experience with spray painting, sandblasting, or industrial painting is a plus

Knowledge of coatings (epoxies, polyurethanes), surface preparation techniques, and ability to read blueprints or technical specifications.

Ability to stand for long hours, climb, lift heavy equipment, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
